Personal Statement
My name is Alyssa, I am graduating this spring, May 2024, from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a BFA in interior design. I am seeking new graduate interior design opportunities in the hospitality industry. With the experience I have had so far as part of a hospitality focused studio, I know that hospitality projects are so concept driven and are crafted to ensure the best user experience possible. I am so excited to graduate and immerse myself in the professional environment and I am looking forward to making connections through NEWH.
My professional experience in interior design so far has been a crucial part of my education. At my position as interior design intern at Steinberg Hart, I learned what it is like to work with a design team and how a project functions. During my time as lighting design intern at Celano Design Studio, I experienced the inner workings of the lighting side of interior design and how crucial lighting is to the project. While not directly part of the interior design field, my experience as a marketing intern at a small community bank was valuable in teaching me the importance of creating and upholding the brand of a company.
