Student Spotlight - Mari Peralez - CSU

Mari Peralez is a student of interior design at Colorado State University. She has been active in student organizations and has played a significant role in creating diversity among the Department of Design & Merchandising. As a Sophomore, Mari was influential in the development of two new organizations, Student Hospitality Network and DM’s Diversity Committee. She has provided guidance and purpose to both organizations throughout her career at Colorado State University. She is also involved with the Department of Design & Merchandising’s Leadership Team and volunteers for Shiba Scout Rescue. Mari began her involvment of Student Hospitality Network, SHN, as a Sophomore Representative and now serves as the President. She has influenced the direction of the group, helped establish necessary board position, and developed the website; allowing for better communication with the student population. She has developed many of the events and promotional material.

As part of the Diversity Committee, Mari has helped establish communication between the Department of
Design & Merchandising and the Poudre School System. She has volunteered in classes, presented to clubs, and attended career fairs in order to establish a better understanding of the majors offered through the department.

Mari has received “Sophomore Recognition Award” from the Department of Design and Merchandising and will be receiving recognition for her diversity efforts through the Celebration of Graduates.

National Account Manager

Cori Begle – Has accepted the role of national account manager in the Mid West. Cori will be responsible for Hyatt Hotels, Rosemont Purchasing, Hyatt International, Classic Residence by Hyatt, White Lodging, American Hotel Register, Benjamin West, and Neil Locke & Associates. Cori will continue to be responsible for sales in her existing territory.
